Department of Community Nutrition is one of the Basic Structural in vice-chancellor. The mission of community nutrition Department is planning nutrition & food security policies.  In addition this unit approach to improve quality of food basket in society used to increase of food availability, nutritional education, and contribution in national nutrition food policy, monitoring & research about nutrition disorders such as malnutrition (Underweight, Overweight, Micronutrient, disorders & metabolic syndrome). Finally department of community nutrition is going to promote public health in Fars province.

 

1. Planing & Goordinatoring between in sectors & out sectors to promotion of Nutrition and Food Security.

2. Educate to promotion of Nutritional knowledge and practice in Community.

3. Educate of community Nutrition to the physicians & health workers.

4. Planning and designing interventions for promotion of Nutrition in the children under 6 years old.

5. Planning and designing interventions for promotion of  Nutrition in the  pregnant and the Lactating woman.

6. Planning and designing interventions for promotion of Nutrition in the Adolescent and  the Teenagers.

7. Planning and designing interventions for promotion of  Nutrition in the Adults and the elderly.

8. Management of Nutrition in disasters.

9. Planning to prevention of micronutrients (Fe, I, Zn, vita A, …) deficiency disorders. 

10. Planning of nutrition to prevention of CHD, Diabetes, cancers and promote food habit in community.
